Full and Simplified Widely Linear Filter applied to Iterative Detection of Generalized MIMO Signals

چکیده

To suppress the strong interference in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems, an iterative receiver with a linear detector for complex symbols is investigated. We show that the considered generalized MIMO system, i.e., a system that transmits besides the pure data also complex conjugate replications, transforms the MIMO channel such that the output signal becomes rotationally variant. This property demands the use of a widely linear (WL) filter that is derived to fit to the generalized MIMO signal structure. Furthermore, we present approximations of the WL filter that significantly reduce computational complexity with only little loss in bit-error rate performance.
